Principal Broker and founder, Lindsey F. Barden, knew a different approach to structuring deals was essential. In 2017, with in-depth market knowledge and over a decade of experience as a broker, Lindsey developed a BOUTIQUE commercial real estate company founded on the principles of integrity, candor and credibility. Today Dark Horse|CRE prides itself on being an influential player in the brokerage community with customized concierge services to meet trends in the marketplace and each client’s unique set of needs.

Lindsey F. Barden

Lindsey, Principal Broker and founder of Dark Horse|CRE, has represented prominent retailers, organizations and institutional players in structuring deals for well over a decade. Prior to Dark Horse|CRE she operated a satellite Richmond, VA based brokerage office for Rappaport, a Washington D.C. based real estate firm. Proceeding Rappaport she was an Associate Broker with Cushman & Wakefield|Thalhimer, a full service global brokerage firm.

Lindsey is an alumni of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned her B.S. in Real Estate and Land Development while also tackling her start in the industry with the development firm, The Rebkee Company. Lindsey is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Lindsey is an avid equestrian and supporter of local animal rescue organizations. When Lindsey is not scouting sites or closing deals for her clients, she is spending time with her husband Nic, their herd of rescues and cheering on the VOLS at home in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Laikyn N. Severson

Laikyn joined Dark Horse|CRE in 2020 as a Sales & Leasing Partner to continue her focus on representing retailers throughout the Richmond, VA market. Previously, Laikyn had been a Sales & Leasing Associate with Divaris Real Estate where she handled the leasing of over 1,000,000 square feet of office and retail properties throughout central and western Virginia. Laikyn has additionally represented local businesses in helping them to expand their footprint throughout the central Virginia market.

Laikyn is an alumni of Virginia Commonwealth University where she obtained her B.S. in Real Estate from the Kornblau Real Estate Program. While at VCU she served as president of Rho Epsilon, VCU’s Professional Real Estate Fraternity, and was awarded scholarships from; the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Richmond Real Estate Group and the VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence. Laikyn is a board member of REAL Life and member of AREA (VCU’s Alumni Real Estate Association).

During her downtime, Laikyn enjoys spending time with her Labrador Retriever, Kiva and riding her horses. She also loves all things beauty related and is passionate about empowering women not only in business but also by enhancing their natural beauty as a hair and make-up artist.
